Obituary of Betty Lou Senicar

Please share a memory of Betty to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
SENICAR – Betty Lou of Swift Current formerly of Glen Bain, passed away suddenly surrounded by family and song at the age of 85. Betty was born on the family farm near Hazenmore to William Norman and Elva Alice Myers, on September 28, 1930. She was one of their seven children. She attended school at Leicester, Harold and Hazenmore Schools. Betty enjoyed farm life, and loved playing and working alongside all of her siblings. She met the love of her life, Stanley Senicar, and they married on December 30, 1949. Together, they bought the Brandser farm near Glen Bain. Stanley and Betty were blessed with five children. They enjoyed socializing, music, farming, and playing cards. Betty was predeceased by her parents, her loving husband of 47 years, Stanley, her great grandchildren Jayden and Kierstyn Ofstie, her siblings Eliza, Bud, Lily, Roy, and Norman. She is survived by her children Cheryl (Lyle) Ofstie of Central Butte, their children Jeff, Shane (Shawna), their children Pacey, Ansen, and Keegan, Jarod (Carla) and their children Pfeifer and Finn; Val (Tim) Dickinson of Edmonton, their children Daniel (Jane), Matthew (Ashlyn), Alexander, Caitlin (Andrew); Dwayne (Kathy) Senicar of Glen Bain, Evan (Stephanie), Tylor, Lyndon, Stephen; Darrell (Sandra) Senicar of Glen Bain, Aaron (Jen), Mitchel (Michelle), Sawyer; Glenda (Derrick) Freitag of Sherwood Park, Jillian (Aric), Jessica, Jaxon. She is survived by her sister Ora Janzen and sisters in law Helen Hornung, Katherine Schiissler, Sheila Myers, Dolores Kapell, and Yvonne Myers. Betty’s greatest joy was her family and we were blessed to celebrate our love of family at our annual family reunion last weekend. We are heartbroken to have lost Betty, but we know she is back in the loving arms of Stanley and surrounded by family once again. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice. The family is thankful for everyone’s thoughts and prayers. A funeral mass was held on Friday, November 6, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. from Christ The Redeemer Roman Catholic Parish. The interment took place at Vanguard Cemetery, Vanguard, SK.
