BOLTON – Amy Violet 94 years passed away on November 1, 2016 at the Cypress Regional Hospital after a short but courageous battle with cancer. Amy is survived by her son Brent (Cyndi) grandchildren, Ryan (Erin), Taylor, Meghan; step-son Gerald, grandchildren Vince (Kathy), great-grandchildren Shae-Lynn, Kyla, Stacy (Jacquie). She was predeceased by her loving husband of 68 years Everett Bolton in 2013; parents Alma and Gustaf Peterson; siblings Chester, Morris Peterson and Hazel Fritsch; sister-in-law’s Muriel Bolton, Dorothy Bolton, Evelyn Peterson, Effie Peterson, Thelma Bealty; brother-in-law’s Murray Bolton, Edward Fritsch and beloved daughter in-law Sheila Bolton in 2016. Amy was born February 21, 1922 on the family farmstead near Simmie, SK. Amy was known as “The Little One”, small in stature but big on personality and grace. From a very young age to her passing she had a keen sense of style and fashion, always looking her best. In 1945 she married Everett Bolton on March 9th. They settled on his farm in the Simmie district. They had one son Brent and Amy was a caring loving step mother to Gerald Bolton. She spent many happy years on the farm helping Everett even going with his custom combine crew to Texas, Kansas and many other southern states. Amy was a member of the Simmie Stagettes where she met many lifelong friends. IN the winter of 1954-55 they built a beautiful new home in Swift Current where Amy lived for 62 years! She and Everett commuted to the Simmie farm well into their 90’s. Amy recently moved to the Riverview Village Estates where she was enjoying visiting with friends and relatives until her passing. Amy was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all that knew her. She loved playing Bridge and going to her Ladies Investment Club. She and Everett enjoyed many years traveling to Las Vegas, Hawaii, Mexico to name a few places. We know she and Everett are together once more dancing in heaven. As requested by Amy a private immediate family only service and interment took place Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at Parkside Memorial Funeral Home and Mount Pleasant Burial Park. A come and go reception for Amy will be held on Sunday, November 13 in the Great Room at the Riverview Village Estates from 2:00 – 4:00 pm. All of Amy’s friends and relatives are invited to attend. In Amy’s memory donations made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the MS Society would be greatly appreciated by the family.
