MEYER – Lena Cora, age 93 of Herbert Nursing Home, formerly of Swift Current and Rush Lake District passed away on November 15, 2016 at the Herbert Nursing Home. Lena leaves to cherish her memory her children; Lloyd (Erla) Meyer of Swift Current, Marjorie (Victor) Peters of Waldeck, Maurice (Lisa) Meyer of Hazlet, Audrey (Brent) Moen of Calgary and Diane (Michel) Bonneville of Medicine Hat, AB; 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 4 great great-grandchildren, as well as 2 sister-in-law’s and 1 brother-in-law. Lena was predeceased by her husband Albert and her parents August and Lydia Reimer and all of her brothers and sisters. Lena was born in the Waldeck District on January 3, 1923. She met and married Albert (Abe) Meyer at Peace Lutheran Church on November 30, 1947. Her husband owned and operated a number of businesses before settling on the farm in 1967, where they resided until June 2007, when they moved to Swift Current. Mom loved the farm and gardening. She will be fondly remembered by her family and friends and all who knew her. In her memory, donations can be made to the Peace Lutheran Church Cemetery Fund or to the charity of your choice. A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. from St. Olaf Lutheran Church with Pastor Linda Hall officiating. The organist was Arlene Olson. Tributes were read by son-in-law Brent Moen on behalf of the family and by granddaughters Dr. Miranda Moen and Dominique Bonneville on behalf of the grandchildren. Special music was by Pastor Manfred and Renata Kurschner. The pallbearers were grandsons: Darren Peters, Landis Meyer, Jason Moen, Colton Bonneville, Doug Zacharias and godson Eugene Meyer.
