He finally settled just outside his home town of Pennant and worked for Mac and Shirley Garrett; farming, working cattle and cutting meat. When working at the Garrett’s he met his wife-to-be Kandace Woodrow. They married in 1977 and had three daughters. His career there lasted for over 41 years and the Garrett’s became an extended part of his family. Randy loved hunting and was always willing to teach a young one the pastime. He introduced many nephews and great-nephews to the trade. Fishing was another favorite pastime which he enjoyed and took many trips up north for the great fishing. His generous spirit and helpful nature will be missed by many. A memorial service was held on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. from the Pennant Community Hall with Pastor Linda Hall officiating. The pianist was Lori Tate, the ushers were Jessica Williams, Hugh Williams, Dwayne Lange, Darren Titemore and the eulogy was read by Darren James and Nicole James.
