Obituary of Irma Dueck

DUECK – IRMA It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Irma Dueck on November 22, 2024 at the age of 90 in Swift Current, SK. Irma Dueck was born on August 31, 1934 in Herbert, SK. Mom was married to Arthur Dueck in 1953 and started a family together shortly after having 3 daughters and 2 sons. Mom was first and foremost a homemaker where she took care of the daily duties of cooking, cleaning and looking after her children.  If we could use a word to describe our mom it would be "humble". Mom was easy to please, worked without complaining and was always ready to listen. Mom always enjoyed when we came to visit and sometimes when we left! Mom was independent and took it upon herself to carry on after dad "the love of her life" passed away at age 52, Mom never needed a drivers license, but now at age 50 she did and went and passed the exam and enjoyed a new freedom she had never known.

Mom and Greg (the youngest of us 5) lived together for many years managing the house and life together, they grew to have a very special bond even to the very end. We enjoyed a lot of good times together, a lot of good memories and a lot of good food. Mom enjoyed Walking, cooking, gardening, coffee at A&W. 

She is survived by Daughter Debbie (Kim) Turner and their children Joshua (Sandra),Jeremy (Lillie), Daughter Eunice(Linden) Maxwell and their children Travis (Claire), Dylan (Keri), Daughter Marlene(Jack) Martens and their children Pam (Ernest) Fast, Amanda (Greg) Amendt, Curtis (Allison) Martens, Janet(Andrew) Stewart, Son Rod(Lori) and their children Sarah, Scott, Matthew(Brynn), Justin(Brooke) and Shaelyn. Son Greg (Darren) Irma also leaves behind 19 great grandchildren. Her brothers Norman, Letkeman, Ken Letkeman, Richard Letkeman, Stanley Letkeman as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Arthur Dueck in 1985. Harold Chan in 2021. Her parents Jacob and Sarah Letkeman, sisters Mona Roset, Edna Harms, Alma Falk, Verna Letkeman, Viola Sample. 

The funeral service for Irma Dueck will be held on Wednesday November 27th, 2024, at 2:00pm at Parkside Funeral Home. Internment to follow the service at Mount Pleasant Burial Park in Swift Current, SK.
