Guy Joseph Coderre Obituary

CODERRE – Guy Joseph – passed away peacefully surrounded by his wife and loving family at the Gull Lake Special Care Home on November 1st, 2024. He was born in Shaunavon, SK, on March 16, 1943, to Eugene and Gloria Coderre.


Guy Coderre is predeceased by his granddaughter Eméry Coderre, his mother Gloria Coderre (née Gobeil) and his father Eugene Coderre, as well as his brother Mark. He is survived by his wife Mary and his two sons Perry (Kelly) and Darren (Monique) and his grandchildren Gideon, Esmée, Emma and Evan, his brothers Edgar, Marcel (Keefe) and Cleo (Melanie) and many nephews and nieces.


Guy was raised on a farm in Dollard, SK. He enjoyed playing guitar in his free time and played in Smiling Johnie’s band for about 3 years. He was married to Mary Peters of Saskatoon in 1967. They had their first son Perry in 1969, and Darren in 1972. Guy worked as a mechanic and then a caretaker for most of his life. He enjoyed playing guitar and singing at family jam sessions.


A private family memorial service will be held at Parkside Memorial Funeral Home and the interment will take place in the spring at Dollard Cemetery.
