POH – Joan Marie the family of Joan Marie Poh are saddened to announce her passing, aged 62 of Swift Current, SK on June 1st, 2024 at Cypress Regional hospital with some of her favorite family lovingly by her side. Joan was born in Herbert SK, and raised in Ernfold, SK with her Parents, Sam and Rose and 3 siblings Pat, Don, and Gerald.

Joan’s life was marked by hustle, heart, and a heroic love for her family and friends, especially her daughter Lea(nne) and grandson Ethan. She loved baking, crafting and stories, she was her grandsons biggest fan, and her grandpups favorite person. She was forever showing off her grandson and grandpups to anyone that would listen. Though many will know her from her career at Truck Town, she was a server and later a cook, but her entire life embodied servanthood. Through her own adversities she dedicated herself to helping others, animal or human. regardless of where they came from or what they did. Her infectious smile and listening ear were magnetic, she was able to connect with people. She was a dedicated friend, a loving sister, a nurturing parent, caring aunt and a proud grandparent. Joan will be greatly missed by those left behind, but welcomed by the many missed family and friends that passed before her.

The family would like to say a special thank you to Willow Creek Manor and the many loving caregivers for their excellent care and friendship. You truly made Joan’s last few months with you a home and confirmed that angels really do walk among us. Thank you as well to the Doctors and Nurses in emergency at Cypress Regional Hospital for their care, concern, and compassion. To Dr. Flora in Swift Current for being a great advocate and support for Joan, as well as the rehabilitation team at Saskatoon City hospital for being the biggest cheerleaders during her stay this past year while in recovery.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on June 22, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Parkside Memorial Funeral Home the family would appreciate if those coming could wear something yellow or unicorn/hummingbird accessories. Arrangements are in care of Parkside Memorial Funeral Home – Ryan Cappelle & Hayden Cappelle

A private family Interment service will take place next month in Ernfold, SK, at the Ernfold Cemetery.
