My sincerest condolences to Ben's family. Ben was my first boss for my career with the Swift Current Research Centre. I could not have wished for a better mentor. Ben was insightful, caring, and dedicated. He was definitely the most down-to-earth, honest and approachable boss I have ever had. As a wet-behind-the-ears researcher, he let me explore my interests but would also sharply reign me in when I was missing something important. I am honoured to have known him and consider him a friend.

My deepest condolences to the Ben’s family. Ben was a mentor to me and many others at the Research Centre. His gentle nature, innovative thinking, and passion for research made him a great leader. His contributions and achievements in equipment design, reduced tillage and soil management have been a major benefit to the efficiency of our research activities and to the Canadian agricultural industry. He will be sadly missed. Bob Zentner

As much as we want to be at the service for Uncle Ben, we are unable to attend. We so appreciate the opportunity to view the streaming of the service. Most of my memories with Uncle Ben are from my childhood likely because of our close association with Aunt Muriel. Such a kind, gentle, happy person are the thoughts that come to mind. He was an exceptionally gifted man, yet so humble. We are thankful he to have had him as part of our lives! Sincere condolences to all of his family! Connie & Allan Engh
