Larry grew up in Rush Lake and found his love for music at age 12 when he was gifted his first guitar. He taught himself to play the old country songs and perfected his voice as he entertained his family and anyone else who would listen. Throughout his early life travels, his love for his guitar and making beautiful music did not change. After almost 4 years in the Royal Canadian Air Force he met his soul mate and married Linda on November 2, 1968. Larry worked hard to provide for his family while entertaining with his band, Midnight Special on the weekends. He had a long career with the city of Swift Current as a police officer, fireman and later as a Bylaw officer before retiring in 2016. Larry was a man of many talents and took pleasure in family time where his guitar was always by his side. Larry will be missed for his loving, kind and gentle soul by all that knew him. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Salvation Army or Canadian Mental Health Association. A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 5, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Parkside Memorial Funeral Home.
