Dear Jenna,
There are so many things I appreciated about your mom! She was kind, generous and funny. When Eden was born and our family raced out to Lloyd, it didn’t occur to me that I perhaps should have checked to see whether your mom was there or not! It must have been so hard for them to leave you and a new baby.
A family of sisters was foreign to me, and I watched your mom honour her mom and sisters well. We were always glad to be included in visits with Grandma Gert though I realize there was no stopping Grandma Gert!
I enjoyed the times we had coffee when I (we) visited Jeff as well as the lunches when we met to bring Eden to Manitoba.
Rhonda also showed me how to be a grandma - in particular as Eden was past giving me a hug - she said “I give him high fives now.”
One bad thing has been how your family wrecked our family for using anything other than real whipped cream!
I can’t begin to tell you how sorry I am that you have had to say good-bye to your mom and best friend.
