BUSSE - Edward of Swift Current and formerly from Hallonquist area passed away peacefully with family by his side at Cypress Regional Hospital on December 21, 2023. Ed was born to the late Reynold & Louise Busse on August 7, 1939. Ed fell in love with Myrna (Sabine) & they were married in January 1960. Ed & Myrna lived in the Burnham area for 11 years and then moved to Ed’s family farm at Hallonquist to carry on the family farming tradition. Ed kept very busy farming and raising two children together with Myrna, Cheryl & Kevin. Ed loved farming and it was his life-long passion. Ed was still summer fallowing at 83 years of age. Ed enjoyed looking after his animals including cows, pigs, chickens and the kids’ horses. He was very involved helping his children with their 4-H animals every year. He operated his mobile seed cleaning plant for 33 years. Ed & Myrna enjoyed square dancing at Waldeck and other locations in the area.  Ed & Myrna liked to camp and enjoyed many trips to the mountains and also bus tours. Ed & Myrna moved to Riverview Village Estates in Jan 2022. Myrna didn’t have much time to enjoy it there unfortunately, but Ed settled in and enjoyed visiting with many old friends and many new friends. Ed didn’t think he could ever leave the farm, but he sure liked living at Riverview.
