Please share a memory of John to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
ENS – John, age 83, passed away on Monday, February 5, 2018 at the Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon, SK. John was born in Blumenhof on March 14, 1934 to Peter and Margaretha Ens. He was a very talented man who was willing to put his hand to whatever was needed – mechanics, plumbing, electrical. Carpentry or his love for farming. He has a very artistic eye so his projects were done and finished as perfectly as possible. He was willing to help with anything although his mother-in-law soon found out that even for her, he refused to pluck chickens! In 1960 he married Irene and they lived in Blumenhof until retirement. They had three children, Mark, Steven and Carolyn. He dearly loved his family and they were the number one priority in his life. John was a very humble and kind man. He was also a man of faith, never bold in speech but instilled in his children Christian values and served his Lord his own quiet way. He is survived by his wife Irene, his son Mark, his daughter Carolyn and her husband Blair Nixon, his sisters Susie, Sarah (Pete) Friesen and Anne, his brothers Jake (Sylvia) and Jim. John is also survived by his in-laws, Denis (Bev) Ginet, Lucille (Vern) Haroldson, Andre (Brenda) Ginet, Marcel Ginet and Rene Liboiron as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Peter and Margaretha Ens, his parent-in-laws Rene and Beatrice Ginet, his son Steven, his brothers Dave and Frank, his brothers in law Frank Zacharias and Abe Friesen as well as sister in law Irene. He will be fondly remembered and missed by his bowling and coffee friends. Always loved and remembered by his family.
