Obituary of Gerry Cowan

COWAN – Geraldean (Gerry) Ann passed away peacefully on October 7, 2023 surrounded by her loved ones. She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Colin; her children Michele (Grant), Marlis (Mark), Michael (Nicole); grandchildren Ashley (Dallas), Kalli (Kyle), Dillon (Alex), Kaitlyn, Jaden, Mckenna, Carter and Hayley and her great-grandchildren Melody, Rya, Kaydence, Hayden, Jase, Zach, Everly and Maci.  She also leaved behind a sister, Grace Braun and numerous brothers and sisters in-law, cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was born to Charlie and Mary Smith in Carnduff, SK on July 30, 1945 and spent her school years at Gainsborough, SK and then attending Teachers College in Regina, SK. After teaching for a year, she met the love of her life. They married in 1965 and moved to Swift Current, SK.

She was involved in the Royal Purple and Beta Sigma Phi for many years. Mom really cherished her family and all the time she spent with them. She will be forever in our hearts. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation in memory of Gerry.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, October 16, 2023 at First United Church at 1:00 p.m.  with Karen Messner officiating.  The interment will take place at Hillcrest Cemetery, Swift Current, SK.
