Elaine Barta, age 91, of Swift Current, SK passed away on August 24, 2021 at the Meadows in Swift Current. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 2, 2021 at the Chapel of Parkside Memorial Funeral Home with Chaplain Bob Cappelle officiating. The interment service will take place at Mount Pleasant Burial Park.

Elaine is survived by her daughter Lola (David); son Brad; and grandchildren Ryker, Mason, Harley, Danius, Zayden, Miriah and Kylie. She is predeceased by her husband John and her son Eric.

Elaine was born on July 25, 1930 in Lebanon. She came to Canada in 1958 and met her husband John in Winnipeg. Elaine and John moved to Swift current where they married on June 16,1964 and started building their home and their family.

Elaine enjoyed spending time with her family and her grandchildren. She loved cooking for family and friends and always made sure that there was more than enough to go around; everyone always had enough to eat and no one ever walked away hungry. She would often cook different Lebanese dishes which were always a favorite. Elaine was a hard worker, she spent most of her career as a cook working at many different restaurants. In 1986, Elaine and John opened their restaurant, Trio’s Family Restaurant, which specialized in Pizzas but also served a variety of Canadian dishes and some Lebanese dishes. Elaine had a caring heart and always wanted to help others, when she retired from the restaurant business, she volunteered at the Salvation Army where she would cook meals and assemble hampers. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
