I offer my sincere condolences to you, Joan’s family. I had the privilege of getting to know Joan quite well in the years we were both on the board of education of the Leader School Division. I observed Joan to be always fair, honest and a good thinker. She maintained a youthful and positive spirit and an admirable level of decorum. We got to be friends and although we didn’t see a lot of each other, remained friends through the years. Unfortunately I didn’t hear of her passing until today so I missed her memorial service. I wish you all the best in your memories of a very fine lady.

To all the Horvey family my sincere sympathies. Joan was such a wonderful soul, always ready to help, always interested in what was happening in town and in our lives. She was a wealth of information and it was an honour to know her and work beside her on projects. I will never forget the year we had the homecoming and Joan rode in the horse drawn wagon all day and gave the history of Cabri. She was HOARSE by the end of it and was a bit sore but she had loved every minute of it!. She so enjoyed sharing stories. I know she will be sorely missed by you, her friends and the whole town. You deserve to rest in Peace Joan you have given so much to so many.
