Shirley Gail Dilworth (nee Reimer) was born in Swift Current on January 24, 1949. She passed away on July 31, 2011. The ushers were Doug Reimer and Branden Reimer. She was the eldest in a family of 3 girls and 3 boys. Her parents were Phyllis and Alfred Reimer. Shirley was raised on a farm at Prairie View until the age of 11 and then the family moved to a dairy farm at Rush Lake. She attended Salt Lake School until age 11 and finished her public school in Rush Lake, and took her high school in Herbert. After high school Shirley worked at numerous jobs including; Macleods, The Tuxedo Café and the Herbert Drug Store. Shirley also babysat for many years. Shirley was Baptized and Confirmed at the Peace Lutheran Church at Prairie View. She was active in the Rush Lake 4-H Dairy Club and even ran for Dairy Princess and succeeded in becoming the runner up. Shirley loved sports and was a huge fan of the Blue Jays and the Saskatchewan Rough Riders. When she was a little girl she played hockey with her brother Garnet. In high school she especially liked softball and curling and as an adult she played ladies softball and curled for many years. Shirley loved animals especially her dogs. Over the years she had many special and unusual pets. She was an avid gardener and grew many beautiful flowers and perennials. Shirley was very active in her community and was a member of the Herbert Lioness and Herbert Hospital Auxiliary. The whole family loved her chiffon cakes especially her brothers. None of us could figure out how she could make them so high and fluffy. I guess she took the secret with her. Shirley was predeceased by her beloved Dad, Alfred Reimer who stood beside her through thick and thin; brother-in-law Dave Wiebe and mother and father-in-laws Lenard and Hertha Dilworth. Left to mourn; her mom, Phyllis Reimer; brothers, Garnet Reimer, Terry Reimer, Landis (GayLynn); sisters, Sharon Wiebe; Lorna (George) Tsougrians and numerous nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind special friends Bev & Don Fast; husband Allen Dilworth and sisters-in-law Florence (Gerald) Woods and Bev (Larry) Ellerman. Arrangements entrusted to Parkside Memorial Funeral Home.
