Marion Elizabeth Wall Obituary

Marion Elizabeth Wall Obituary

WALL – MARION ELIZABETH with deep love and profound sadness, we announce the passing of Marion Elizabeth Wall, who went home to be with her Lord and Savior on April 25, 2026. Marion began her earthly journey on December 18, 1938, in McMahon, Saskatchewan, born to Jacob and Katherine Schmidt. Shortly after her birth, the family moved to Swift Current, and when Marion was around eight years old, they settled on a farm south of the city near the old Black Bridge — a place that shaped her childhood and her character.

Marion began school at Elmwood School, bravely stepping into the classroom without knowing any English. It was the first of many times she would meet life’s challenges with determination and grace. She possessed a natural entrepreneurial spirit, working at Woolworths in both the diner and toy departments, later joining her uncle in a sewing shop, and even spending time selling real estate. For the years that we were at the farm mom cooked at the Texaco Service Station, then after moving back to Swift Current she was a cook’s assistant at the Comp High School and even did sewing drapes in our garage. Together with her husband, she owned and operated a drapery and fabric shop, pouring her creativity and work ethic into every venture.

Marion and Peter’s life together was one of partnership, faith, and unwavering devotion. They were married on April 7, 1956, and recently celebrated an extraordinary 70 years of marriage — a testament to their unconditional love for each other and their shared trust in Jesus Christ.

After closing their store, Marion and Peter embarked on new adventures. They spent nine meaningful years running the 4H camp in Birsay, Saskatchewan, where Marion cooked and baked for countless campers while Peter handled the maintenance. Later, they moved to Outlook, Saskatchewan, where they managed Luther Home with the same dedication and teamwork: Marion in the kitchen, Peter ensuring everything ran smoothly.

Marion was a loving and devoted wife, a beautiful and nurturing mom, and a cherished grandma and great-grandma. Her family was her heart, and she poured her love into every generation.

She leaves behind her beloved husband of 70 years, Peter, and their children: Jackie (Geoff) Stevens, Darcy (Myra) Wall, Sandra (Terry) Heinrichs, David (Stephanie) Wall

Marion was blessed with 10 grandchildren — Cindy (Mathew), Shaun (Lee), Jessica (Andrew), Dakoda (Carli), Ryan (Tiffany), Derek (Leema), Stephen (Kristin), Nicole (Cody), Cole (Rebecca), and McKenzie (Brady) — and 16 great-grandchildren, with two more expected in July and October.

She is predeceased by her parents, Jacob and Katherine; her sisters Linda Jaster and Alice Wall; her sister-in-law Barb Schmidt; and her brothers-in-law Larry Jaster and Lyle Simpson. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and dear friends who will forever hold her memory close.

Marion’s life was defined by faith, resilience, generosity, and love. She worked hard, welcomed others with warmth, and lived each day with purpose. Her legacy lives on in the family she nurtured, the communities she served, and the countless lives she touched.

Her presence will be deeply missed, and her memory will remain a blessing.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, May 1, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at Trailview Alliance Church. The interment will take place at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Swift Current, SK.
