Lana was born in Swift Current, Sk to Lois and William Pyett on January 22, 1958. The family moved to Melaval, Sk where Lana went to grade school and finished her Grade 12 in Lafleche, Sk. Every summer was spent at the family cabin at Thomson Lake, Sk.

After graduating Lana returned to Swift Current where she met the love of her life, Trent Olson.

Lana and Trent were married on July 19, 1980. Shortly after they moved to the research station, where they lived for the next 29 years until they moved to their acreage.

Lana worked at Robinson Electronics and Merivale Nursery until their daughter, Kyla Lorin was born. A couple years later, their son David Trent was added and their family was complete.

After both kids were in school full-time, Lana went back to work spending 13 years at Safeway, 2 years in the School Division and the remainder of her career at Standard Motors before retiring, making many lifelong friendships along the way.

Family was the most important factor in Lana’s life and once her children married and her grandchildren arrived, she was in her element. Lana was always available to help with her grandchildren at any time.

The only exception when Lana could not spend time with her grandchildren was when she had a golf game scheduled. Lana enjoyed golfing with her friends and loved going on golf trips. Lana loved gardening, making jams and pickles and lefse. Lana was also a huge source of information on relatives. You needed to know a name or how they were related, she knew.

Lana was pre deceased by her parents, Lois and William Pyett and her loved in-laws Jean and Melvin Olson.

Lana is survived by her husband of 45 years, Trent Olson; their children, Kyla (Jonathan) and David (Jordanna); their grandchildren Nash, Tyler and Bronwyn; her siblings Lynn (Steve) and Lyle (Rhonda); brother-in-law Barry (Edith), along with numerous nieces and nephews.
