Bryon Allen Collinson passed away peacefully on November 25, 2025, surrounded by love. A devoted husband, father and grandfather. Bryon’s life was defined by service, family and a deep appreciation for the simple joys of life.

Bryon began his career as a Police Officer with the Swift Current City Police before proudly joining the Royal Canadian Mounted Police on December 24, 1973. He served with honor and dedication until his retirement on August 6, 2003, leaving behind a legacy of integrity and commitment to his community.

He was predeceased by his beloved daughter Bobbi Lea, his parents Bill and Marguerite, his brother Robert, his sister-in-laws Carol, Verna; his sister Brenda Halvorson, his brother-in-law Larry Halvorson and his cherished mother-and-father-in-law George and Susan Meyer.

Bryon is survived by his loving wife Mary Lou; his son Wendell and daughter-in-law Megan; and his treasured granddaughters Tiffany and Jaycee, who brought him endless joy. He is also survived by his brother Francis; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Rocky and Donna Meyer, and George and Holly Meyer; as well as many nieces and nephews who will remember his warmth, humor and generosity.

Beyond his career, Bryon found joy in fishing, hunting, golfing and being the Treasurer for Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church. He especially cherished his work compiling the Collinson family tree, tracing their roots all the way back to the year 1640-a testament to his love of history and family connection.

Bryon’s legacy lives on in the family he loved so deeply, and in the countless moments of laughter, guidance, and comfort he shared. His presence was a steady anchor and his memory will remain a source of inspiration for all who knew him.

A graveside service will be held for Bryon on December 6, 2025 at 11:30AM at Mount Pleasant Burial Park here in Swift Current with a celebration of Bryon’s Life/Come and Go get together of Family and Friends to follow at the East Side Church of God from 1-3PM. ALL are welcome to attend both gatherings as Family and friends are invited and encouraged to gather, share stories and honor the remarkable man who gave so much of himself to those around him.
