                                                                                                                                         Eileen Viola Cashin (nee Strauch)

                                                                                                                            July 14, 1944 – November 13, 2025

Eileen Cashin, age 81, was welcomed into the presence of her Lord on November 13, 2025.

She is reunited with her loving husband Terry Cashin who predeceased her to join her parents; Gustav and Gertrude Strauch (nee Bechthold); brothers: Kenneth Strauch and Lorenz Strauch; sister-in-law: Audrey Strauch; two older brothers in infancy; and Terry’s parents, William and Jane Cashin.

Eileen leaves to mourn: brother: Harold Strauch (Marg); brother-in-law: Dave Cashin (Lillian Reid); nieces and nephews: Tim Strauch, Amber Strauch (Martin Fjaagesund), Nolan Strauch (Val Graham), Arlen Strauch (Lisa), Cindy Daae (Darwin), Shawn Cashin (Irene Farino), and Annemarie Cashin (James Martin); great nieces and nephews: Ezra Fjaagesund, Nick Strauch, Marcy Strauch, Jason Strauch, Keith Daae, Andrew Daae and Jaydon Martin, as well as many extended family members and dear friends.

Her love for the Lord flowed out of her whole heart. She loved people, and everywhere she went Eileen made friends. She always had a kind comment and an uplifting word of encouragement. She had a unique gift of making people feel special and loved. To meet her was to love her.

Eileen was born on July 14, 1944 in Gravelbourg, Sk. She was the only girl with three older brothers. They grew up on the family farm near Shamrock, Sk. where she learned the value of hard work and dedication. She attended Bolingbroke School and graduated from Hodgeville High School (1962), Millar Memorial Bible Institute (1965), and Reliance School of Commerce, Secretarial Course (1966).

She got her first job at Hodgeville Union Hospital, where she worked as a Nurse’s Aid in the nine-bed hospital. In 1966, she made the move to Regina and worked at the Regina General Hospital in administration for a few years. It was that same year, Eileen met Terry Cashin, the love of her life. Terry was born in Liverpool, England. He had been at Briercrest Bible College for school and was working with Child Evangelism Fellowship. They were married on June 1, 1968 in Kelstern, Sk. Terry’s work took them all over the world and Eileen found work in top administrative, accounting and coordinating positions wherever they went. They moved to Rhodesia in 1970 and later Malawi, Calgary, Ab in 1975 and to Vancouver in 1981, where Eileen was with Westcoast Energy for 11 years before retiring in 1994.  They made their home in Abbottsford, Lethbridge, Swift Current, and Langley, BC after retirement.

Traveling was their passion and together they went on countless cruises all over the world. They made deep friendships wherever they went and always made time for family. Terry passed away on November 12th, 2020, after 52 years of marriage. In 2022, Eileen moved one final time, to Swift Current, Sk., where she was blessed to be surrounded by so many cherished friends and family.
