Margaret Janzen Obituary

JANZEN – Margaret was born on August 10, 1934 to Abe & Anna Ginter. She passed away on Tuesday, September 23, 2025 at The Meadows Longterm Care Facility in Swift Current, SK. She married George Janzen on October 30, 1955. They followed George’s work until they settled in Wymark where they eventually built their home. Margaret was all about her family, kids, grandchildren. Even friends of her children were always welcomed with open arms. All the neighborhood kids called her grandma. She was always proud of the chickens she raised and her 2 large gardens.


She spent many years, housecleaning and painting for many families. She also loved her gameshows, card games and especially aggravation. She enjoyed visiting with whomever came through her door.


Margaret is survived by her children, Shirley (David) Baumgardt, Lloyd (Loretta) Janzen, Sharon (Greg) Beisel; grandchildren Jason, Lisa, Jennifer, Miranda, Michael, Shelby, Kelsey and Josh. As well as great grandchildren , Brandon, Taylor, Jordyn, Austin, Avery, Mariyah, Micah, Madelyn, Benjamin, Jackson and great-great grandchildren Brysen & Jhett and namesake, Wrenn Margaret Ward; her brother Jake & sister-in-law Hilda. Margaret was predeceased by her parents Abe & Anna; husband George; grandsons Travis & Kurtis; siblings Abraham, Helen, John, Abe, Issac, Mary, Ann, Katie, Bill and Stella.


A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 27, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Zion Mennonite Church with Pastor Paul Little officiating. The interment took place at Schoenfeld Mennonite Church Cemetery. Donations in memory of Margaret can be made to the Meadows Auxiliary, Swift Current, SK. Funeral arrangements are in care of Parkside Memorial Funeral Home – Ryan Cappelle & Hayden Cappelle.
