THURSTON – Catherine “Gael”, 79 of Parksville, BC passed away on Tuesday, July 15, 2025 in Swift Current, SK. At her request, no funeral service will be held. A burial will be held at a later date at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Moosomin, SK.

Catherine “Gael” was born in Bethune, SK to George and Gertrude Fuchs on November 7, 1945. She went to Fleming School. She married Donald Thurston on October 17, 1985. She worked as town administrator for the town of Fleming, town of Herbert and town of Bruno.

Catherine “Gael” is predeceased by her husband, Donald, her parents, George and Gertrude Fuchs and her brother James Fuchs.

Catherine “Gael” is survived by her daughters Linda (Keith) Dixon, Laurie Grant; brother Roy (Stella) Fuchs; grandchildren Mysti (Chet) Simpson, Barri (Allison) Dixon, Fawn Grant and Bayleigh (Raymond) Napper; great-grandchildren Rebecca (Ryan) Fisher, Zander (Kyra) Dixon, Calli (Koalby) Simpson, Mackayla (Jackson) Dixon, Breanna Martin, Jessica Dixon, Kaiden Napper, Jayde Dixon, Keedin Napper and Jackson Simpson. As well as great-great grandchildren Lex, Lailah Dixon and Henry Fisher.
