Carl Steven Maalerud June 28, 1955 - June 29, 2025 - Celebrating the wonderful Life of a Very Incredible Man. Carl was born June 28, 1955 in Easton, SK. to Bob and Marjorie Maalerud. He grew up in Whitebear, Saskatchewan on the family farm. He died at Manitou Beach. He is predeceased by his mother and father, and brother Garnet.

He leaves to cherish his memory his best friend and wife of 32 years Dawn Maalerud, his four children Kelly Munsie (Chris) Grandchildren - Emma, Boyer and Wyatt; and Great Grandson Mackenzie; Rhyse (Corissa), Eve Welten (Dave) grandchildren - Kinsley, Boston and Blakely, and Anu Mackay (Tyler). Also his brother Les Maalerud (Brenda) and sister Carol Bitschy (Keith) and families.His Step-Mother Lottie Maalerud and her Son and wife Robbie and Bonnie Donaldson, Numerous Aunts, Uncles and cousins! AND SO VERY MANY FRIENDS!

Carl had LIFETIMES within this lifetime! Working: at an aluminum smelter,  a bell hop, milkman, Sask Department of Highways, A Heavy Duty Journeyman Mechanic, then started Mr. Casual Clothing Company Ltd., Barrista/A Casual Cup Espresso Bar and Bakery, Piapot Curling Club Ice Technician (13 Seasons) a Grader Operator for the RM of Piapot and became Foreman of the Crew, A Driver Educator for Chinook School Division and Private Driving Instructor. He was a volunteer Fire Fighter and Lion’s Club member for over 25 years. He was a man of many talents: restoring old trucks, buildings, motorcycles, carving, cooking, chicken husbandry, rabbits, a donkey who adored him, you name it; he could do it…with excellence! Carl touched the lives of so very many people; he will be missed dearly. His favorite prayer, “May peace prevail on earth”. A Come & Go Celebration of Life for Carl was held on Sunday, July 13, 2025 from 1-4 PM at the Piapot Hall, Piapot, SK. Funeral arrangements are in care of Parkside Memorial Funeral Home – Ryan Cappelle & Hayden Cappelle.
