Ms. Esther Grant passed peacefully with family by her side at The Meadows Care Home in Swift Current on Tuesday, June 10th, 2025, at the age of 97. 

Esther is survived by her oldest son Bill Grant, twin sons Don Grant (Angel) & Ron Grant (Habiba), Son-in-law Paul Mork, Grandchildren Michelle Mork-Boyer (Cameron), Paulette Mork, Neil Grant (Theresa), Jesse Doom (Ashley) and Brittany Brown. Great Grandchildren: Amani Boyer, Kendle Boyer, Ruby Doom, Anna, Tomika, Margaret Grant, and Marcus Peiritsch and her nieces & nephews.

Esther is predeceased by her parents George and Jessie Smith, sisters Eva Renwick (Clarence), Mary Jean Ford (Lyn), son James Grant, daughter Barbara Mock, daughter-in-law Doreen Grant and Grandson James Grant.

Esther was born in Arbroath, Scotland. She grew up on a farm near Fosterton, SK. She raised her five children in Swift Current, SK. She worked at Modern News for many years, before she started working at the nursing home on Swift Current’s South Side. Esther also volunteered at various places. Esther took great pride in raising her children, spending time with family, and her work. Esther was very kind, giving, and didn’t have much, & didn’t ask for much, and always put everyone else before herself.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Meadows where she lived since it opened in 2016 for the outstanding care they provided to Esther. They became like family to her.

The Memorial Service to honour her life will be held at 2 PM on Tuesday June 17, 2025, at Parkside Memorial Funeral Home with Chaplain Bob Cappelle officiating. A reception will follow the service in the chapel after the interment at Memory Gardens Cemetery
