ERNST – Mildred Agnes of Gull Lake formerly of Swift Current, passed away on Thursday, January 16, 2020 at the age of 96 at the Gull Lake Special Care Home. She was born on her grandparent’s farm in the Aldag district south of Carmichael on November 19, 1923. Mildred was the only child of Richard and Kate (Aldag) Ernst. Mildred was raised in Carmichael. She married Gordon Rowe in 1940, and later divorced, and they had 3 children; Jim Rowe, Faye Logan and Bob (Marlene) Rowe. Mildred is survived by her 3 children, Jim, Faye and Bob and grandchildren: Amanda (Kevron) Browne, Graeme (Tania) Rowe, Pamela (Brad) Forsyth, Terry Logan (Roland Osske), Doug (Cindy) Logan, Chris (Kayla) Rowe, Sacha Rowe (Nick Eriksen), Scott (Cassie) Rowe; great grandchildren: Alysha Pytlarz, Dawson, Noland & Kadin Rowe, Rachelle (Jeff) Bruton, Sean (Kathryn) Forsyth, Brittany Forsyth, Mason (Sydney) Logan, Hailie and Carson Logan, Presley Hill, Aiden Rowe, Abigail and Thea Eriksen, Landon Rowe; great great-grandchildren: Sydney and Austin Bruton, Logan Forsyth and Will Logan. She is also survived by one brother Jack (Donna) Montgomery and one nephew Roy (Bev) Montgomery. She was predeceased by her partner John Allen; son-in-law Ken Logan; daughter-in-law Norma Rowe and a very special Aunt & Uncle Ed and Maggie Miller. Mildred worked all her life while raising her three children, saying that was her greatest accomplishment. She retired from the Bank of Montreal in Swift Current in 1988. She was very active in the Square Dancing Club, played cribbage at the Legion of which she was a member at Branch 56. She was a past Worthy Matron of Eastern Star. Her hobby was painting, leaving her family many beautiful paintings to treasure. In 2015 she moved to Autumn House in Gull Lake and in 2018 she then resided at the Gull Lake Special Care Home. We cannot express enough our gratitude for all the tender care, respect and love given to Mildred. We were truly blessed at both places. A family graveside service will be held at a later date.
